Affiliate marketers start out sifting through the many affiliate programs and direct merchants to join in a bid to earn money online.
This can be quite a daunting task for the new affiliate. The questions arise, 'should I join affiliate programs?', or 'should I join direct merchants?', or 'should I do both?'.

Joining affiliate programs can be regarded as a good move in that you're able to join with the one program but join bulk merchants, promote products and merchants, and receive one big payment each month, if you've put in the hard work for it.


Affiliate lifetime commissions, or residual commissions, as they are also known, are usually received by subscriptions and memberships where you can rely on affiliate commissions being received as long as the member is subscribed to the particular service. Why earn affiliate commission from one customer for one products, when you can earn affiliate commission for a lifetime? After all, residual income is what you are looking for right? A guaranteed monthly income.

There's just really no comparison whatsoever, there is no doubt about that.
Other affiliate merchants offer lifetime cookies which never expire. This means if a prospective customer visits your site, clicks on your link, and buys something in 2 years time, you still get paid for it. I normally prefer programs that offer everlasting cookies, but these programs are hard to come by for certain niches. Many cookies through affiliate programs expire after 30 days, some even less, so affiliate tracking and cookie expiration is definitely something an affiliate marketer should research before signing up for an affiliate program.

An affiliate program is based on many different and unique ideas and by operating one accordingly you can rest assured that your business will benefit tremendously because of it. It is up to you to ensure that your future finances are all in tact and that you can live comfortable. By relying on an affiliate program you can be sure when you lay down at night that the bills will all be getting paid and on time too. Always be prepaired to evolve your "marketing" tactics when working with affiliate programs.

Bottom line, you can earn more profits through affiliate program and when you first start seeing the results pouring in you are probably going to be quite amazed with the whole event. An affiliate program description can be determined by just doing some simple research but in order to fully understand it you are probably going to have to get your feet wet first. 1. In your contract or sales agreements, state the interest rates and late fees that will be assessed if payment is not received within 30 days of completion.

2. Write form letters to be used for collecting the balance. There should be three letters in total -- one after the payment is ten days late, another after twenty days, and a third that lets the client know that you’ll be turning their account over to a collection agency (or taking them to small claims court). The third letter should not be sent until 45 days after the payment is late. And of course, never bluff. If you say you will turn it over to a collection agency, do so.

3. The best way to protect yourself is to take payment via credit card. State to your client that you will bill their credit card one third of the total price as an initial down payment, another third just after you have passed the 50% completion point, and the final third on delivery. Or use the two-payment system -- half at the initiation of the job and the remainder upon completion.
